BlippScanner — Last updated: April 2026
BlippScanner is a lead scanning app for exhibitors at events and trade shows. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.
Who we are
BlippScanner is operated by David Bicho / blipp.now. Contact: david@davidbicho.com
What data is collected
- Visitor badge data — When an exhibitor scans a visitor's NFC badge or QR code, the visitor's registration data (name, company, email, phone, city) is retrieved from the event database and saved as a lead.
- Scan records — Each scan is recorded with a timestamp and optional notes.
- Voice notes — If the exhibitor records a voice note, the audio is sent to a transcription service (OpenAI Whisper) and the resulting text is stored. Audio is not retained after transcription.
- Avatar images — AI-generated portrait images may be created for visitors using Google Gemini. These are stored on our server and linked to the visitor record.
- Camera — Used locally to scan QR codes and photograph badges for OCR. Images are sent to our server only when the exhibitor initiates an OCR scan.
How data is used
- To provide exhibitors with a list of leads collected at the event.
- To allow exhibitors to export and follow up with contacts after the event.
- Data is never sold to third parties.
Data storage
Data is stored on a server in the EU (Hetzner, Finland). Visitor data is entered by event organizers when setting up the event. Scan data is retained until the exhibitor or event organizer deletes it.
Third-party services
- OpenAI Whisper — Audio transcription. Audio is processed and discarded.
- Google Gemini — Avatar image generation from visitor data.
- Anthropic Claude Vision — Badge OCR processing.
Your rights
Visitors whose data is stored can request deletion by contacting the event organizer or emailing david@davidbicho.com.
